Most problems take a minute to fix with the steps below. If they don't help, email us and we'll sort it out.

To help us help you faster, include your browser, the NoKickAds version, the Kick channel you were watching, and what the extension's popup shows. A screenshot helps too.

Common problems

Ads still play on a stream
  1. Click the NoKickAds icon in your browser's toolbar and check the switch at the top is on.
  2. Reload the Kick tab. NoKickAds starts working on pages opened after it was installed or switched on.
  3. Look at Stream ads in the popup. If it says Not protected, see the next question.
  4. Check you have the newest version on the updates list.

Still seeing ads? Email us with the channel name and roughly when the ad played.

The popup says "Not protected"

That means Kick has changed how its player works, and NoKickAds couldn't switch the stream to its ad-free version. The stream still plays normally, but ads can appear.

NoKickAds gets updated when this happens. Check the updates list for a newer version, and email us with the channel name so we know it's happening.

A stream won't load or a Kick page looks broken
  1. Switch NoKickAds off in its popup, then reload the page.
  2. If the page works with NoKickAds off, switch it back on and email us the channel or page address and your browser. That's a bug we need to fix.
  3. If the page is still broken with NoKickAds off, the problem is on Kick's side.
Firefox removed NoKickAds after a restart

Firefox only keeps add-ons that Mozilla has signed, and add-ons loaded from the download are temporary. Load it again the same way:

  1. Open about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox in a new tab.
  2. Click Load Temporary Add-on and choose manifest.json in the unzipped folder.

Once NoKickAds is on Firefox Add-ons, installing it from there keeps it installed for good.

Firefox asks to "Allow access to Kick"

Firefox lets you turn off an add-on's access to a site. NoKickAds needs access to kick.com to remove stream ads. Click Allow access to Kick in its popup, then reload the Kick tab.

There's no blocked-request count in Firefox

That's expected. Firefox doesn't let extensions count which of their blocking rules matched, so the count only appears in Chrome, Edge, Brave and Opera. The blocking itself works the same in Firefox.

How do I update NoKickAds?

If you installed it from the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons, updates install by themselves.

If you installed it from the zip:

  1. Download the newest zip from the home page and unzip it over your old NoKickAds folder.
  2. Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera: open your browser's extensions page and click the reload arrow on the NoKickAds card.
  3. Firefox: open about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox and click Reload under NoKickAds.
How do I uninstall it?

Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera: right-click the NoKickAds icon in the toolbar and choose Remove from Chrome (or your browser's name). You can also click Remove on its card on the extensions page.

Firefox: right-click the icon and choose Remove Extension, or open about:addons and remove it there.

Uninstalling deletes its two settings. Nothing else is left behind.

Where do I see which version I have?

Open your browser's extensions page (chrome://extensions, or about:addons in Firefox). The version number is on the NoKickAds card. Compare it with the newest one on the updates list.
