What can the extension access?
Only kick.com. Your browser will say it can "read and change your data on kick.com", which it needs to fix the stream link. It also uses the browser's built-in request blocking, which works without seeing your browsing, plus storage for your two settings. Its blocking rules only apply to pages on Kick, so other sites aren't affected. The privacy policy has the details.
Will Kick break it?
It could, any time Kick changes how its player works. If the stream fix stops working, the popup shows Not protected instead of Ad-free and the stream plays as normal, ads included. Nothing breaks on the page itself.
Does it cover VODs and clips?
Not yet. It handles live streams, Kick's video ads and the display ads and trackers across the site.
Why doesn't the Firefox popup show a blocked count?
Firefox doesn't let extensions read which of their blocking rules matched, so the count is only available in Chrome and other Chromium browsers. The blocking itself works the same in both.
Do streamers lose money?
Ads are part of how streamers on Kick get paid. If there's a channel you want to support, switch the blocker off from the toolbar while you watch, or subscribe to the channel directly.
